Hey everybody, my name is Xavier Perez and the film I’m working on is called Homecoming. I was inspired to write this film by two different things. My mother had breast cancer and although her cancer is in remission now, I know other people who haven’t been as lucky. I wanted to showcase what happens to a family after the death of a member. My other inspiration is that I am minoring in Arabic and have always been fascinated by Arabian and Islamic culture. There is a stigma against Arabic people in America because of the events that have happened in the past 20 years, and I wanted to break that down to show how people can’t be grouped the same just based on their geographical areas of origin or their religions.
